About

St John’s vision is to be a united Christ-centred church sharing faith, hope and love with the community.

St. John’s started life as a local community church plant from Balmoral Presbyterian Church in the working-class area of Mt. Roskill in 1946.  A simple hall was built as church and community centre. Over the years multiple additions and the purchase of neighbouring properties expanded the complex. Throughout our history, St John’s has served our community; one of our past members was a well-respected Mt Roskill District Mayor and our current congregation includes community group leaders, teachers and nurses.

The current church community comprises three churches, St John’s (multi-cultural), Eun-Chong Korean and an Indian Faith Builders fellowship.  The church runs an Op Shop, a community garden, a weekly community meal, and a small food bank. The current complex is widely used by a range of community groups.
